Angie Morris and Sylvia Davis are two Anishinaabe moms who each have gender diverse adult children. In early 2020 they started a parent support group for parents of 2SLGBTQ+ kids. The pandemic put this group on hold, but thanks to your generous contributions we have been slowly building a library of resources. The resources we have been able to secure help caregivers, youth workers, and questioning people figure out how to support 2SLGBTQ+ people.
Some resources have been given to teachers and youth workers after a workshop facilitated by Sylvia. Others have gone to parents who are longing to support their children who are questioning their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. Some of the resources we have been able to locate include fiction featuring 2SLGBTQ+ characters, biographies, children’s books, and books written by Indigenous 2S authors. We appreciate the support as we continue to work with families who long to best support their kids.
